Do you find yourself stressing over making important decisions? Do you have regrets? Have you ever done something because some part of you wanted it but another part of you didn’t want it? This happens when you don’t trust yourself. When you don’t believe that your soul knows the plan. Sometimes the crappy decisions you make are part of the plan, but you don’t know that in the moment.

That’s where trust comes in. Ask yourself what would you do if you trusted in yourself, in the Universe. Would you have slept with that person if you truly trusted that the Universe has the perfect partner for you? Would you have said yes to going out, and engaging in drinking and drugs if you trusted the Universe has your back, and a night spent in was just what you needed? You are your soul. You are the Universe. Trusting in yourself means trusting in the Universe. Ok, you get it, trust in yourself blah, blah, blah. But What does that trust look like?

It looks like surrendering. It looks like letting go. What are you trying to control? What are you compensating for? What doesn’t come naturally but you’re still trying to push it. Once you ask yourself these questions, then ask yourself why? My answer for the “why” is always because I don’t trust. The first two months of quarantine, I pushed so hard that I was moving to Cali after lock down. I endlessly searched for jobs, looked for roommates, and worked so hard to convince myself I was going, that it wasn’t natural anymore. It was forced and it was because I truly didn’t think it was possible. I didn’t truly believe I would be able to make it out there and live that sunshine and beach life I’ve always desired.

Once I surrendered, I discovered a new purpose. I discovered my true path (to some extent) and right now it’s not moving to Cali. Visiting? Hell yeah, but driving my 2006 Honda CRV 1400 miles to Los Angeles to figure it out, is not in my cards, at least not right now. (;

Do you trust yourself? Most people don’t, we have been programmed to resort to fear and doubt, and not love and faith. But what can be programmed can be reprogrammed. It starts with talking it out, journaling, and meditating.

Meditation Exercise: For five minutes, start by taking deep breaths in and out, start to visualize what trusting yourself looks like, maybe it’s saying “no”, maybe it’s saying “yes”. Maybe it’s applying for that job you didn’t think you were qualified for. Whatever it is, visualize it, and breathe in feelings of light, faith, trust, and acceptance, and breathe out feelings of fear, doubt, and worry.

Journal Exercise: What do you think your soul and the universe have in store for you? It can be one specific thing, it can be a multitude of things. It can be related to anything! Love, Career, Travel, Health, ETC. Whatever you think it is, journal about what it would look like to surrender. To take things as they come, to trust that your soul and universe know the plan and what’s meant to be will be.
